Ordered online and received my wool lined vest quickly. Vest appears well made but the only issue I have is that it was made in China. I try to avoid stuff from China More Australian made country gear would be great

Top notch working oil skin

I bought this oil skin vest to replace two others which were burnt in the Dec 19 bushfires. My old ones weren’t lined with fleece and while they were a good wind break, I had to wear extra layers to keep warm on those nasty cold and wet days. This vest is a whole different level of quality, warmth and utility. It’s fleece lining is excellent and I don’t need extra layers. The press studs and zip are very high quality. The collar can be folded up to protect your neck and looks great as it’s cauderoy, not wool. I’ve already worn it working in driving rain and it kept my core warm and dry. The rear panel extends down nice and low to keep your lower back protected even when bending over. The pocket arrangement is very useful, although it would be fantastic if the vertical chest pocket was a bit bigger to accomodate modern smartphones. Check your sizing - I’m normally an XL but the Large is a far better fit for me. The last word on this is the high quality and durability of the shell itself. Will stand up well to abrasion and a life of rough treatment.
